Out of traditional names, hurricanes will now be given Greek names

The tropical storm Wilfred was named late Friday morning and is located more than 600 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, according to a statement from the National Hurricane Center. It poses no threat on land and is predicted to weaken further as it passes through the Atlantic next week. Wilfred is the last name on the list of 21 traditional names for this year's Atlantic hurricane. Greek names will start to be chosen after 21 traditional names like Laura and Sally are used up, starting with the letter "A" and so on, in alphabetical order.  The letters Q, U, X, Y and Z are not used.
