The latest SITUATION of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic is uncertain.
World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said based on the latest data, some countries had managed to control the outbreak from spreading while others were still struggling to fight it.
Around the world we are seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases reported mainly in Europe and America.
"Every day especially the last four days show the highest number reported.
Many cities and countries are also reporting an increase in hospital admissions and beds for intensive care," he said.
At the same time, he said, the people were also reminded that this situation was uncertain.
Each country responds differently, he said.
"Nearly 70 percent of all cases reported worldwide last week were from 10 countries, and almost half of all cases were from only three countries," he added.
As of Sunday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide exceeded 37.1 million, while the number of deaths exceeded 1.07 million.
The United States remains the country most affected by the pandemic with the highest number of cases and deaths, followed by India and Brazil.
