CHENGDU: Neighborhood apartments surrounded by greenery amidst the hustle and bustle of the big city will definitely give a 'wow' value to the occupants of residential units, as well as those who look from afar.
But what if the apartment becomes a vertical jungle? Due to the long neglect, it is 'swallowed' by the lush and wild plants so that almost most of the structure of the building is sheltered?
According to the local newspaper, Global Times , although all 826 units in Qiyi City Forest Garden apartment in Chengdu, China were sold last April but so far, the building has only been inhabited by about 10 families.
According to a real estate agent, at a glance, the apartment is similar to a post-apocalyptic film set .
The problem is, the 'fertility' of the trees is also favored by another species that is hated by humans .... namely mosquitoes!
That was one of the reasons the apartment ended up being the choice of only a few residents.
According to other media reports, the housing project developed in 2018 has a special design on the balcony to provide ideal space for lovers of outdoor space, and for the growth of the trees.
However, due to the lack of care of the building, eight of the towers became thick bush areas which became a 'paradise' for mosquitoes and other insects.
However, some residents took the initiative to prune and cut the wild plants and turn on the lights.
