Scheduled to open in early 2022, it will produce 100,000 tons of insect products such as flour and oil each year. The plant also operates on a reserved location site, while offering 500 job opportunities.

The 40-meter-high factory premises is located in an area of ​​40,000 square meters. It is the tallest vertical livestock space in the world and is the first vertical farm of its kind that does not produce carbon footprint, ”said Ynsect co-founder Antoine Hubert.

Hubert said so at the company's first plant, which opened in Dole, eastern France in 2016. There, special machinery moves trays containing millions of mealworm larvae .
