WASHINGTON: U.S. voters need to come out as much as possible to ensure Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden records a landslide victory that could not be challenged by President Donald Trump, exclaimed former president Barack Obama at a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one of the hotspots.
"We need more people to go out and vote than before ... we can not allow any doubt in this election. We can not have any doubts ...
"I don't care about votes. Many are comfortable sitting at home and lazy and feeling comfortable (as in 2016). But this time it is not possible," Obama said on Wednesday.
Obama reminded voters of the sudden defeat of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton at the hands of Trump in the 2016 presidential election and claimed it was partly due to many voters feeling very confident of Clinton's victory, seeing Democrats vote very low, especially in hotspots, Sputnik news agency reported.
This is the former president's inaugural speech for two terms, in the context of the presidential election this time, two weeks before election day on November 3.
Pennsylvania is considered a hot spot and decisions in the state can determine election results.
Biden, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, saw Trump fall behind in the state, where the former vice-president is now ahead of 4.9 percent, according to the Realclearpolitics.com poll on average on Wednesday morning.
