Guinness World RECORD has recognized Ezzeldin Bahader as the world's oldest professional footballer.
The 74-year-old was confirmed as the owner of the status on October 6 after a match in the Egyptian division three league.
He was previously asked to appear in two matches at the professional level to enable him to achieve the record.
Despite failing to complete the penalty in the match, Bahader received cheers from family and fans.
The father of four and the grandfather of six grandchildren started playing professionally last January to get the record.
He, who will turn 75 this November, made his debut in the third division match in March, and managed to score one goal despite injury.
"I became the oldest professional footballer to score in official matches," Bahader told BBC Sport after the match.
Previously, the record of the oldest professional football player was held by Israeli player Isaak Hayik, who received the record when he was 73 years old.
