IRAN took advantage of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of UNGA to vent its anger on the United States (US).
Its president Hassan Rouhani slammed the US, claiming Washington had turned West Asia into a dangerous region.
It involves the sale of billions of dollars worth of weapons to countries in the region.
"They are selling billions of dollars worth of weapons to their clients, turning our region into a dangerous region.
"And they are still trying, albeit unsuccessfully, to try to deprive Iran of its minimum defense and to ignore international law and global consensus, in order to extend arms embargoes on Iran.
"This is contrary to the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 document," he said on Tuesday.
Iran and the US have been known to be enemies since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
It is exacerbated by the episode of US hostages in Tehran.
