NEW YORK: The presence of plastic bubbles began to appear at the foot of a commercial area in New York, USA, offering safe breathing space in capsules while dining at alfresco cafes, Reuters reported .
Despite many news reports showing that the people of the country protested against the use of face masks, and also lacked confidence in the 'existence' and threat of COVID-19, there are still many citizens who ask business entrepreneurs to do something to provide additional protection during the pandemic period. >
The plastic bubble, which only takes a minute to install or pack, became an attraction at the Café du Soleil on the Upper West Side, Manhattan especially as the weather became colder and wetter in the fall.
"With everything happening around the world, eating in this bubble is one of the best experiences we can have.
They provide something safe and clean. Everything is arranged with a distance of six feet between them. We like it, ”said Valerie Worthy, who enjoyed a meal with two colleagues.
New York is now committed to making the experience of dining in such an open space maintained for thousands of restaurants. The habit of eating alfresco has been well-established among customers since before the arrival of the pandemic threat last spring, said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
To keep our customers warm during the fall and winter, city authorities allow restaurant owners to use certain heaters and enclosed tents.
The restaurant is also allowed to operate with a capacity of 25 percent on the inside.
The plastic bubble caught the interest of Café du Soleil owner Alain Chevreux last July as he monitored online products, while figuring out ways to stay afloat in his business.
Due to the limited seating capacity of the interior, Chevreux said, the 20 seats were not enough to pay the salaries of the cook and his server.
A total of 15 bubbles bought by Chevreux saved his business. At a price of US $ 400 per unit, its use outside the restaurant adds to the income. Able to accommodate six people at a time, customers need to make a reservation in advance.
"Families like it. Even children like it. Friends who want to get together also like it.
"A few weeks of rain songs, but everyone in this plastic bubble is happy," Chevreux said.
